How to split a PDF into pages in the browser
What you get
Split when one PDF holds several pages that need to travel separately. This page starts on a fixed range of one page, so a three-page packet becomes a ZIP of page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf, and page-003.pdf. That is the sample. Use it before a private file if you want to see the names and the count. Splitting copies pages. It does not retype them and it does not compress the pictures inside them. If you only wanted a smaller single file, use compress instead. If you wanted one PDF with a new order, use merge.
You can change the range before you export. A fixed step of one page is the default because it matches the common “send me page 2 only” request. Extracting a different slice is still the same local copy. The ZIP is built in the browser. NexTool does not receive the packet and does not store the pieces. Download the ZIP, open it, and confirm the page count matches the preview. The split guide explains how to think about packets, names, and what not to split.
Limits to read first
Unlock passwords first. A file the browser cannot open cannot be split. Memory is the other limit: a long scanned packet can fail even though a three-page text PDF is easy. If the job fails, you still have the original, because the tool never had to send it away. Do not split a file you are not allowed to copy. The terms on this site say you are responsible for the rights to the files you process. Splitting does not remove hidden information from a page. If a page shows an account number and you need it gone, redact is the job, and even then you must check that the number can no longer be copied.
The sample packet has three pages, so the ZIP should contain three PDFs and nothing else. Open each one. A blank extract usually means a blank page was in the source, not that the tool invented a page. If you needed only the middle page, narrow the range instead of sending the whole ZIP and asking the recipient to guess. Names like page-001.pdf are stable and dull on purpose. Rename them on your computer after you have checked the pictures, so you do not mix page 1 of this packet with page 1 of another packet that used the same default name.
A short session, in order
Open split and drop the packet you are allowed to copy. Read the page count in the preview before you touch the range. The default is one page per file, which matches the sample packet of three pages and a ZIP of three PDFs. If you need pages 4 through 6 only, set that range and export once. Download the ZIP to a folder you can find again, open every piece, and only then rename them. Leave the original packet untouched until those pieces look right. Closing the tab does not save the ZIP for you, and NexTool never had a copy to send back later.
